let’s try this

I just threw this together using Blogger. What do you think?

Ok, Nancy, here I go. Hmmm, so far, not bad. Is there a certain limit to the number of words a comment may contain?

Guess I’ll find out what the comments look like with/without tags. Do paragraph tags or line break tags make a difference?

(I was told to that paragraph tags are not allowed, but line breaks are.)

Gotta go, but thanks!, this was my first blogging experience. I had a good time.

TX for the invite, this is a great idea. My first blogging escapade! So, EMails are generated as well as the blog comment?

I was looking around this AM to find some info on blog software and if restricted to internally only — but nothing specific found so far.

Did find some interesting info/praise about WordPress over Movable type:

    entrepreneurs-journey.com/120/choosing-the-best-blog-software-wordpress-is-winning

And, info from UMD about internal and external policies — may or may not be helpful for the tekkie group:

    lib.umd.edu/itd/web/blogs

And, something from ITBusinessEdge about using blogs to an organization’s advantage both internally and externally.

    Hope this goes thru.

Already messed up – forgot to add the URL for ITBusinessEdge:

    Bye.

Hey, this is interesting! I think the only way to really understand blogs and their options is to try to set one up yourself. This one just took me a few minutes. When you get a chance, could you go to this page: (I tried to make a link but it didn’t work) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weblog_software, and pick one type of blog software (or from anyplace else you’d like) and try to set one up yourself? Don’t take a lot of time, but in filling out the settings you’ll be able to see how things are put together.Laurie, I guess the only way to figure out the HTML tags is to try them. Can anyone figure out how to make a link that actually works?blogman, thanks for all the good info! Maybe you’d want to try out WordPress?

PS I set this blog up with email notifications. I found that since I restricted the blog to just us from the team, RSS wouldn’t work.

  6. nallmang Says:

I just removed the email notifications. Did you think they were annoying or useful?

  7. Paula Says:

I thought they were useful! I guess it would depend on how active the blog is.
